General Information

As modern technology is progressing, the laying of walkable supply and disposallines in areas close to the surface is gradually replaced by pipelines laid inside the gallery.

Pipes laid in the gallery are particularly suitable to convey the medium over long distances as well as to feed into the existing municipal network.

Gallery Driving
Following a survey of the geological subsoil conditions to be expected the route of the pipeline can be identified. Cutter machine and driving method are to be in line with the geological subsoil conditions to be expected. With the availability of a highly developed cutting technology and advanced technical equipment almost any geological conditions can be tackled today. Experienced firms are on the market and are operating on a worldwide basis.

Pipeline Construction in the Gallery
With the help of transport vehicles or mobile rollers the pipes are introduced into the gallery individually or in sections. Depending on the kind of pipe material the line sections are linked to form an interconnected conduit system and laid out in the gallery in a central-symetrical way. The pipeline to be secured against ascending forces.

Ring Space
The hollow space between pipeline and the gallery is called ring space.
This ring space needs to be filled.

Pipe material

Compression-resistant pipeline systems in potable - as well as waste water and in the construction of power stations frequently necessitate the installation of a pipeline laid inside the gallery. The type of pipe material of the walkable conduits are to be selected in accordance with the medium to be conveyed.

As a rule, gallery pipelines with a high degree of tensile strength are made of steel or elastic material. Pipelines containing sockets are made of plastic, concrete and cast iron.

All aforementioned pipe materials are suitable for potable water, depending on the water treatment applied.

Pipe lines made of plastic or concrete are generally used in waste water. Our method has a number of special advantages when using plastic pipes.

In the construction of power stations steel pipelines are preferrably used, however.
